Ondah was founded in 2006 with a mission to bring together grassroots causes and a community of professional and amateur photographers. This community, larger and more diverse that we had imagined, were eager to invest their art into a broad range of passions and interests. They created powerful and inspirational picture stories that captured the imagination of a wide audience, and this of course delighted the sponsoring organizations.
After experimenting with different campaign strategies and formats we found the 'magic' formula that became our product today. We focus very much on the brands and causes giving them the control to best express their identities through the creative input, and to add their own messaging into the viewing experience.
There's no single ingredient that makes it work. Rather it is the combination of a careful choice of theme, how the content is selected and displayed, the initial call to action, and the viral sharing that together turn the collection of stills and captions into more of a video-documentary experience.
